Job description
The Département d’histoire de l’art et d’études cinématographiques is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Decolonial Art History and Museology.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at all three levels of the curriculum (undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students), to supervise graduate students, to engage in ongoing research and publication activities, and to contribute to the academic life and reputation of the University.
Affiliated with the Département d’histoire de l’art et d’études cinématographiques, the successful candidate will perform half of his or her task in the faculty program of museology, including teaching.

Requirements
- Ph.D. in Art History, Museum Studies or a related discipline
- Strong record of publications in Decolonial Art History and Museology
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality university teaching.
- An adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language or a strong commitment to mastering the proficiency level required, in accordance to Université de Montréal’s Language Policy. An institutional learning support program is offered to all professors wishing to learn French or improve their communication skills.
