PRIMA-Projekt (SNF) «Liebe und Krieg. Profane Bilder auf gotischen Elfenbeinen»

In dem vom SNF geförderten Projekt «Liebe und Krieg. Profane Bilder auf gotischen Elfenbeinen» an der Universität Bern, unter der Leitung von PD Dr. Manuela Studer-Karlen, ist zum 1. April 2021 oder nach Vereinbarung für die Dauer von vier Jahren die Stelle einer/s Doktorandin/en zu besetzen. Die Entschädigung richtet sich nach den Ansätzen des Schweizerischen Nationalfonds SNF. Gesucht werden Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten mit herausragendem wissenschaftlichem Potential und exzellenter Masterarbeit, die bereit sind, eine Dissertation im oben genannten Projekt vorzubereiten. Voraussetzung für eine erfolgreiche Bewerbung ist zudem eine gute Kompetenz in der deutschen und englischen Sprache sowie einer weiteren Fremdsprache. Bewerbungsschluss ist der 31. Januar 2021.

Projet PRIMA (FNS) "Amour et guerre. Images profanes sur les œuvres gothiques en ivoire"

Dans le cadre du projet financé par le FNS "Amour et guerre. Images profanes sur les œuvres gothiques en ivoire" à l'Université de Berne, sous la direction de Dr Manuela Studer-Karlen, le poste de doctorant/e doit être pourvu pour une période de quatre ans, à partir du 1er avril 2021 ou à convenir. La rémunération est basée sur les critères du Fonds National Suisse (FNS). La participation à toutes les activités liées au projet est attendue. La présence sur place est vivement souhaitée.

Nous recherchons des candidats/es ayant un potentiel scientifique solide et un excellent travail de master, qui sont prêts/prêtes à préparer une thèse dans le cadre du projet sur les œuvres gothiques en ivoire. Une autre condition préalable pour la postulation est une bonne maîtrise de l’allemand, l'anglais ainsi que d'une autre langue étrangère. La date limite de dépôt des candidatures est fixée au 31 janvier 2021.

Doctoral position (48 months)

PRIMA project (SNF) "Love and War. Profane pictures on gothic ivory"

Within the SNSF-funded project "Love and War. Profane pictures on gothic ivory" at the University of Berne, under the direction of PD Dr Manuela Studer-Karlen, we offer a doctoral position for 48 months, starting 1 April 2021 or by agreement. Salary scale is provided by the Swiss National Science Foundation. The participation in all activities of the project as well as residency in Bern are expected.

The successful candidate should have an outstanding scientific potential and an excellent MA degree in Medieval Art History and have a strong interest in developing a dissertation within the project on gothic profane ivory works. A further requirement for a successful application is good German and English as well as the knowledge of a further foreign language. The application deadline is 31st January 2021.
