The Department of Art at Georgia College invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of modern and contemporary art history. The teaching load is four courses per semester with some sections that may be combined. Duties include introductory courses, surveys of modern and contemporary art, courses in the candidate’s areas of expertise, senior capstone supervision, and expectations for research and service. Special consideration will be given to applicants with a global perspective in their teaching and research. Opportunities for curriculum development and additional support through funding for research, professional research leave (i.e. sabbatical), student assistantships, study abroad, and summer teaching are available.

The Ph.D. in Art History is required at the time of appointment; ABD may be considered if the degree will be completed and conferred within the first year of employment.
