The National Gallery is seeking an Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary to assist in the development and delivery of the National Gallery`s new Modern and Contemporary Programme.
Working with the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Projects and the Curator of Post-1800 Painting, the Associate Curator will be responsible for delivering the Gallery`s ambitious new programme of artist residencies, as well as assisting with the care, display, research, management and interpretation of the National Gallery`s historic collection. They will have a particular interest in enabling a dialogue between contemporary practitioners, diverse audiences and the collection.
The successful candidate will be a specialist in a relevant field of expertise, with experience of working in a collection institution, working with contemporary practitioners and a record of curated projects and exhibitions to a high international standard. They will have exceptional public speaking skills and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from the general public to artists, peers, lenders, and supporters of the Gallery.
