Reviews editor, Nineteenth-Century Art Worldwide

Jan 01, 2019
Deadline: Sep 15, 2018

Petra Chu

Nineteenth-Century Art Worldwide, a scholarly, refereed digital journal founded in 2002 and devoted to the study of international art and visual culture of the long nineteenth-century, is accepting applications for a reviews editor to replace Gabriel P. Weisberg, who is retiring in the spring of 2019.

We seek a candidate with a broad view of nineteenth-century art and visual culture and with an international network of academics and museum professionals so that the reviews continue to cover a full geographic, chronological, and methodological range.

The reviews editor actively pursues reviews by locating books and exhibitions and by soliciting and fielding proposals from appropriate writers. Reviews of books and exhibitions are published in the spring and fall issues of the journal. For examples, visit the journal’s website: https://www.19thc-artworldwide.org/.

The journal employs a copy editor, who will prepare the reviews for publication. All positions on NCAW’s editorial board are voluntary.

Please send a letter of interest and a CV to the journal’s executive editor Isabel Taube at taubeisagmail.com. Deadline: September 15, 2018.
