Dr Rebecca Gill

We are delighted to open the call for papers for the next meeting of RATS (Renaissance Architecture and Theory Scholars), which will take place on Friday 26th of April 2024, at Downing College, University of Cambridge, kindly hosted by the Ax:son Johnson Centre for Classical Architecture.

This will be a hybrid event, so no matter where you are in the world, you are welcome to participate. RATS is a great opportunity for scholars (emerging or established) to meet, connect, and share ideas, and so we do encourage as many of you as possible to attend in person .

We invite you to submit proposals for 20-minute papers on any aspect of Renaissance architecture, broadly defined. We are open to papers that address the different geographies of Renaissance architectural history, as well as the reception of Renaissance architecture in later periods.  We welcome research that is in its early stages, as well as work that is nearing publication. In particular, we encourage submissions from postgraduate students and early career researchers.

If you would like to contribute a paper, then please send a proposal of 250 words (or less) and a brief bio to RenArchandTheoryScholarsgmail.com by the 9th of February 2024.

To aid the organisers, please could you let us know if you plan on attending in person, but will not be giving a paper.

Dr Rebecca Gill (host, Morgan Fellow, Ax:son Johnson Centre for the Study of Classical Architecture)
with Dr Elizabeth J. Petcu
Prof Fabrizio Nevola
Dr Caspar Pearson
