Call for Nominations: Bei Shan Tang book prizes (Chinese art history)

Deadline/Anmeldeschluss: 30.06.2023

Michelle C. Wang, Georgetown University

The Association for Asian Studies (AAS) welcomes nominations for the 2024 Bei Shan Tang book prizes in Chinese art history. Two prizes will be awarded: the Bei Shan Tang Monograph Prize (to honor an outstanding and innovative sole-authored monograph on Chinese art history of any historical period published in the English language) and the Bei Shan Tang Catalogue Prize (to honor outstanding sole- or co-authored research on Chinese art history of any historical period published in the English language). Only books with 2022 copyright dates are eligible for the 2024 awards.

The Bei Shan Tang book prizes will be presented at the Awards Ceremony during the AAS Annual Conference, March 14-17, 2024 in Seattle, Washington.

The submission deadline for nominations is June 30, 2023. All nominations must be submitted by book publishers, using the book prize nomination form available via the AAS website (https://www.asianstudies.org/grants-awards/book-prizes/lee-prizes/).

Please note that June 30 is the deadline for nomination form submission; books should be sent as soon as possible once the AAS has confirmed receipt of the nomination, but can arrive after that date.

If you're an author and would like your book considered for nomination, please contact your press representative—do not mail books directly to prize committee members or the AAS Secretariat, as they will not be considered.

For more information, please see the Bei Shan Tang prize page at the AAS website (https://www.asianstudies.org/grants-awards/book-prizes/lee-prizes/).
