Grant for research on "Lucio Fontana, the Argentine period; monuments, projects and works"

The Fondazione Giorgio Cini and the Fondazione Lucio Fontana have announced a call for applications for a grant to study “Lucio Fontana, the Argentine period: monuments, projects and works”. The grant is named after Enrico Crispolti (Rome, 18 April 1933 – Rome, 8 December 2018), who devoted much of his research to the work of the Italo-Argentine artist. The grant is thus meant to renew and continue the relationship between the celebrated art historian and the next generations of scholars.

The project has the institutional patronage of the Argentinean Embassy in Italy.

Admission requirements
In order to participate in the selection, the following requirements must be met, under penalty of exclusion:
- Bachelor's degree (four-year degree) or Master's degree (five-year degree, new system) with a thesis on art history, for candidates of Italian nationality. Applicants of non-Italian nationality must have hold an equivalent qualification (degree, maîtrise, Magisterprüfung, etc.) obtained in foreign universities or corresponding institutes with a specialisation in History of Art.
- Under 35 years of age.
- Advanced knowledge of Spanish (oral and written) and a good knowledge of Italian.
These requirements must be met by the closing date for applications.
Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate, by means of publications or their educational background (courses, internships, scholarships), that they have already carried out archival research.

Submission of applications and qualifications
The following documents must be attached to the "admission form":
- analytical curriculum vitae;
- letter of presentation of a professor who has supervised the study activity;
- research project that the candidate intends to carry out (within 6,000 characters), to be presented in one of the following three languages: Italian, Spanish or English.

Applications will not be considered if they do not contain, in whole or in part the above mentioned documents and applications without a signature.
Applicants may also enclose with their application any other qualifications they consider relevant.
Applicants must send the application form, accompanied by the attachments, in pdf format, by email, indicating "Enrico Crispolti Scholarship" in the subject line, to: artecini.it.
Applications must be sent no later than 28 February 2022.

Awarding the Scholarship
The Giorgio Cini Foundation and the Lucio Fontana Foundation will award the winner a total of €12,000 (twelve thousand), to be paid in two-monthly instalments over a period of six months.

General rules
The duration of the scholarship is six months, starting on 1 May 2022.
It is not renewable.
It may not be combined with other scholarships of any kind and does not give rise to social security or insurance benefits.
In the case of serious and justified reasons, the grant may be suspended for a maximum of three months a maximum of three months.
