Prize for the Best Article in Word and Image Studies

The International Association of Word and Image Studies/Association
internationale pour l'étude des rapports entre texte et image is pleased
to announce the new

Max Nänny Prize for the Best Article in Word and Image Studies.

The prize will be awarded for the best article appearing within the
previous three years on the subject of word-image relations and will be
presented at the Association's triennial conference. The winner will
receive 500 Euros. Honorable mention will be awarded to two runners-up.

To be considered for the Max Nänny Prize 2008, the article must have
been published between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2007.
Unpublished works are not eligible. Membership of IAWIS/AIERTI is not
required. Submissions are accepted in English, French, Dutch, German,
Italian, Portuguese and Spanish, and in other languages at the
discretion of the Board. Three copies of the publication, with the title
page and table of contents of the periodical, should be sent by post to
Prof. Michèle Hannoosh, 5A Fellows Road, London NW3 3LR U.K. Submissions
must be received by January 1, 2008. The winner will be notified by
April 1, 2008. The prize will be awarded at the International Conference
on Word & Image Studies Efficacy / Efficacité in Paris, France, July
7-11, 2008.
