As co-organizers of the Developing Room, we are pleased to announce the launch of our new website, http://www.developingroom.com.

The Developing Room is a working group affiliated with the Center for Cultural Analysis at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Since 2008 we have explored new questions about the histories, theories, and practices of photography by organizing research seminars, symposia, and publications. Our major research areas have included photography and medicine; photography and radical politics; global photography and its histories; and the origins of photography. We are committed to promoting Rutgers as a center for photography studies and fostering collaboration among photography networks across the globe.

Our website includes descriptions of past and upcoming activities organized by the Developing Room and by other photography networks. Please let us know if you coordinate such a network so that we can add you to our growing list here: http://www.developingroom.com/networks. We also encourage you to send us details about symposia, workshops, lectures, and other photography-related events so that we might include them on our blog and web calendar (available for download to iCal). By subscribing to the RSS feeds throughout the website you can easily track our updates.
