Call for Papers

"State in Fide. Gegen die Reformation gerichtete Kunst vor dem Tridentinum"

Vom 15.-17. Februar 2008 findet in Zusammenarbeit mit der Akademie des
Bistums Mainz die Tagung im Erbacher Hof (Mainz) statt. Im Zentrum stehen
Artefakte "spontaner" Reaktion von Anhängern bzw. Vertretern der Römischen
Kirche auf Luthers neue Lehre von 1517 bis zur Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts,
also bevor sich die katholische Konfessionalisierung offiziell formiert bzw.
institutionalisiert. Geplant sind Vorträge von maximal 30 Minuten mit
anschliessender Diskussion; die erweiterten Tagungsbeiträge werden in einem
Sammelband Ende 2008 publiziert. Vorschläge mit Arbeitstitel und einer max.
einseitigen Vortragsskizze sind bis 30. September 2007 zu senden an:

15-17 February 2008, Conference at Erbacher Hof, Mainz (Germany)

The conference will be held in cooperation with the Catholic Academy of the
Mainz diocese and focuses on artefacts of "spontaneous" reactions to
Luther´s new teachings by adherents or official representatives of the Roman
Church. Contributors are invited to examine visual themes from 1517 up to
the official formation and institutionalization of the so-called
Counter-Reformation or Catholic Reformation (circa 1540s). Papers should not
exceed 30 minutes and will be followed by discussion. The enlarged
contributions of the conference will be published (end of 2008).
