Dear friends,
I am searching for information about a couple of flemish painters, father
and son. The father, EDUARD BUYST (or Buis, or Bust) lived in Dendermonde
(=Termonde) in the 15th century, and his son JOHANNES (Jan) was in 1523 a
member of the Antwerp's guild, and died in 1564. They were father-in-law
and brother-in-law of Joachim Patinir. I've got this meager bibliography:
Helbig, J.: La peinture au pays de Liège, 1903, p. 127.
Wurzbach, A. v.: Niederländische Kunstler-Lexikon Ergänzband III, 1911.
Benezit I, 1976
Rombouts/Lerius I, 1872, 83
Has anybody some information to share? Thank you in advance.
Guillermo Solana
