Pat

Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library invites applications for its
2002-2003 residential research fellowship program.

NEH Fellowships: up to $30,000 for 4-12 months
Lois F. McNeil Dissertation Fellowships: $7000 per semester
Winterthur Research Fellowships: $1500 per month for 1-3 months

Winterthur's library and museum collections support a broad range of
research in America's artistic, cultural, social, and intellectual
history from the seventeenth century through the 1930s. Library
collections are strong in American art and culture, with excellent
supporting British and Continental materials. Object collections
include 85,000 artifacts made or used in America from the seventeeth
century through 1860. Among other topics, the collections will
support research in domestic life, the history of manners, the body,
travel and tourism, women's/men's culture, childhood, and in art
history, material culture, and the decorative arts.

Winterthur's research program supports approximately 25 scholars a
year; fellows may live in furnished houses on the estate. For
information and application materials, please visit our website and
view our on-line library catalog.
