Postdoctoral Research Associate, Liverpool School of Architecture

University of Liverpool, 01.03.2019–31.08.2020
Bewerbungsschluss: 22.11.2018

Alexandrina Buchanan, University of Liverpool

The Liverpool School of Architecture is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate on a fixed term contract to be part of an exciting AHRC funded project titled:
"Tracing the past: analysing the design and construction of English medieval vaults using digital techniques."

Here we are taking advantage of digital surveying hardware and software to accurately capture the geometry of medieval vaults and analysing them using 2D and 3D digital modelling programs alongside traditional methods. We have a large amount of data that requires analysis and need to conduct additional fieldwork at further sites of medieval vaulting across England.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding early/mid-career researcher with a good understanding in either history-led research or digital-led research. In either scenario, it is essential that you should have an interest in medieval architecture and can demonstrate computer skills.

You should have a PhD in a relevant subject. This post is available from 1 March 2019 to 31 August 2020 in the first instance.
