DESCRIPTION DU POSTE
Dans le cadre du programme de recherches EHNE, le CAC recrute un(e) post?doctorant(e) qui sera chargé(e) de l’animation de l’axe 7 du projet « Traditions nationales, circulations et identités dans l'art européen ».
Il/elle sera chargé(e) d’assurer un suivi scientifique et une coordination administrative des travaux de l’axe 7. Il/elle participera notamment à l’organisation des manifestations scientifiques et au comité de pilotage de l’axe 7 ainsi qu’aux différentes publications prévues dans le cadre du projet.
Il/elle assurera le suivi des groupes de travail et la coordination de la participation de l’axe 7 à la réalisation de l’encyclopédie.
Il/elle devra impérativement résider à Paris ou en région parisienne pour animer les travaux de l’axe et s’y consacrer à temps plein.
Mise à disposition d’un poste de travail dans les locaux du Centre André Chastel.
Déplacements à prévoir en Province et possibilité de missions à l’étranger.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES Doctorat en histoire de l’art, du Moyen Âge à l’époque contemporaine en rapport avec la thématique de l’axe 7 du LABEX. Avoir soutenu sa thèse depuis moins de 4 ans.

RESUME DU PROJET :
Le LABEX EHNE, financé dans la 2ème vague des Investissements d’Avenir, a pour objectif principal d’éclairer la crise que connaît actuellement l'Europe en reconstruisant une historiographie nouvelle de l’Europe qui s'adresse tout autant au monde scientifique qu'au monde enseignant, aux citoyens et aux politiques. Le projet réunit huit laboratoires partenaires issus de quatre établissements (Universités de Paris-Sorbonne, de Panthéon-Sorbonne et de Nantes, Ecole nationale des chartes). EHNE engage ses participants pour une durée de 8 ans.

Sept axes de recherches ont été définis pour atteindre cet objectif. Ils sont portés chacun par un laboratoire de recherche :
1. L'Europe comme produit de la civilisation matérielle.
2. L'Europe dans une épistémologie du politique.
3. L'humanisme européen ou la construction d'une Europe « pour soi », entre affirmation et crise identitaires.
4. L'Europe comme « hors soi » : frontières, voisinage et altérité lointaine.
5. L'Europe des guerres et des traces de guerre.
6. Genre et identités européennes.
7. Traditions nationales, circulations et identités dans l'art européen.

L’objectif est de parvenir à la réalisation d’une production en histoire spécifique :
• Une encyclopédie analytique en ligne en lien avec une revue électronique et la mise en ligne de documents.
• 14 ouvrages, 2 par axes, dont l’un à mi-parcours (fin 2015) – version anglaise et française.
• Une synthèse finale sous forme d’ouvrage collectif.
• Ateliers, Journées d’étude et colloques pour préparer ces publications.

Axe 7

L’axe Traditions nationales circulations et identités dans l’art européen du labex EHNE, porté par le Centre André Chastel, s’attache à définir l’incidence de l’art dans la constitution de l’Europe depuis le Moyen Age jusqu’à nos jours, à travers les notions de tradition et d’acculturation, en définissant les ressorts de la géographie artistique (forces centrifuges, centripètes, interactivités et réciprocités, réseaux) fondés sur la mobilité des hommes, des idées et des objets. Il accorde une place particulière aux processus de patrimonialisation.

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION
Within the research program ‘EHNE’, the Centre André Chastel is recruiting for a post-doctoral position, in charge of the coordination of axis 7 of the EHNE project, “national traditions, circulations and identities in European art”.
He or she will be in charge of insuring the scientific and administrative coordination of the axis projects; will participate to the organization of events (symposiums, workshops…) and to the steering committee of the axis, as well as to the publications planned within the project; will be in charge of coordinating the research groups working on the project, as well as the participation of axis 7 to the making of the online encyclopedia.
He or she must be living in Paris or the Parisian region, to coordinate the axis
projects, and work full-time as part of the LABEX.
A desk and computer will be made available within the Centre André
Chastel.
Travelling outside Paris and abroad is to be expected.

REQUIRED SKILLS Bilingual French/English
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION PhD in art history, from the Middle Ages to the contemporary period, relating to the themes of axis 7 of the LABEX. Degree conferred less than 4 years ago.

PROJECT SUMMARY :
The main objective of the LABEX EHNE (Ecrire une nouvelle histoire de l’Europe – writing a new history of Europe), financed through the 2nd wave of Investissements d’Avenir, is to throw light on the crisis that Europe is currently going through, by building a new historiography of Europe in direction of the academic world as much as the teaching world, citizens and politicians. The project brings together eight research centres from three institutions (University of Paris-Sorbonne, of Panthéon- Sorbonne, and of Nantes). The project engages the partners for a duration of eight years.

Seven axes of research have been defined to reach this objective. They are each carried by a research centre:
1. Europe as a product of the material civilization.
2. Europe in a political epistemology.
3. European humanism or the construction of a Europe ‘for itself’ between affirmation and identity crisis.
4. Europe ‘outside of itself’: borders, neighbours and far away otherness.
5. Wars and traces of wars.
6. Genre and European identities.
7. National traditions, circulations and identities in European art.

The objective is to produce the following publications:
• An analytical and bilingual online encyclopedia.
• 14 books, 2 per axes, including one at the end of 2015, in English and French.
• A final, collective book gathering the results of the project.
• Workshops and symposiums to prepare these publications.

Axis 7
The axis “National traditions, circulations and identities in European art” of the Labex EHNE, carried by the Centre André Chastel, aims to define the incidence of art in Europe’s development since the Middle Ages until today, through the notions of tradition and acculturation, while defining the elements of European artistic geography (centrifugal and centripetal forces, interactivities and reciprocities, networks) funded on the mobility of men, ideas and objects. It will give an important place to the heritage processes.
