Mobilités artistiques à l’époque moderne : XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles

Comment l’étude des mobilités artistiques à l’époque moderne nous permet-elle de façonner la cartographie de l’art autrement ? Étudier la mobilité des artistes met en question nos critères de classement et d’attribution d’une identité géographique et culturelle aux acteurs et objets artistiques. Les déplacements des artistes, leurs parcours entre différents pays et centres culturels, nécessitent de penser en de nouveaux termes : au lieu de mettre en avant une seule identité nationale, il convient de réfléchir aux identités multiples ou même « déracinées ». Le colloque a pour objectif d’établir des grilles de lecture qui prennent en compte ces identités et objets hybrides qui résultent d’un parcours et d’une pratique artistique « transfrontaliers ».

How does the analysis of artistic mobilities in the modern era enable us to shape the cartography of art differently? Studying the mobility of artists calls into question our criteria for classifying artistic agents and objects and ascribing them a geographical and cultural identity. The movements of artists, their journeys between different countries and cultural centers, necessitate that we think in new terms: instead of a single national identity, it is important to consider multiple or even deracinated identities. The conference seeks to establish patterns of interpretation that take into account these hybrid identities and objects resulting from artistic journeys and practices across borders.
