Online-Symposium: Das Skulpturale im (post-)digitalen Zeitalter/The sculptural in the (post-) digital age

Digitale Technologien haben die Künste grundlegend beeinflusst und das Feld der Skulptur mit erweitert. Das Symposium möchte aktuelle Forschungsperspektiven zu historischen und zeitgenössischen skulpturalen Phänomenen gemeinsam erörtern, insbesondere wie digitale Technologien das Verständnis von Skulptur und des Skulpturalen konfigurieren. Ziel ist es, durch eine systematische, interdisziplinäre und historische Auseinandersetzung zur Diskussion über Skulptur und das Skulpturale im Zeitalter des (Post-)Digitalen beizutragen und gleichermaßen das künstlerische Medium in Bezug auf unsere technologische Gegenwart weiterzudenken.

Digital technologies have profoundly impacted the arts by expanding the field of sculpture.The symposium aims to discuss current research perspectives on historical and contemporary sculptural phenomena, in particular, how digital technologies re-configure the understanding of sculpture and the sculptural. Through systematic, interdisciplinary and historical examination, it will contribute to discussions on the sculptural in the (post-) digital age with the goal of advancing reflections on the artistic medium for our technological present.
