Grant program: Chicago Art & Design

United States, 20.10.2014–20.10.2015

Sara Jatcko

The Terra Foundation for American Art is pleased to announce the launch of a grant initiative focused on the history of art and design in Chicago between the Great Fire (1871) and the close of the twentieth century.

This special initiative, which supplements the foundation’s core American art grant program, offers support for freshly conceived exhibitions, academic programs, publications, and public programs that expand and deepen understanding of the art and design that emerged from Chicago and the city’s history and influence as a metropolitan art center.
Organizations worldwide are invited to apply for a grant. Exhibitions and public programs that receive funding through this initiative are expected to take place during 2018. Academic programs and publications that receive support must be completed by the end of 2018.

The Terra Foundation is excited by the prospect of fostering an international dialogue about Chicago’s rich cultural history, adding to the appreciation and understanding of this important yet understudied area of American art. We hope that your institution will plan to add its unique voice and perspective to the narrative.
